The 'Startup K-Drama' Reality
Stepping into Armada Brands felt like entering the fast-paced world of a startup K-Drama—intense, dynamic, and full of potential. My role wasn't limited to making things 'look good'; it was about solving business problems through design.
I was immediately thrust into the deep end, handling diverse brand portfolios like Nuprene (luggage) and Goodies Nutrition. The challenge was to maintain distinct brand voices while executing rapid-fire promotional campaigns on tight deadlines.
Campaign Domination: 7.7 & 8.8
The highlight of my residency was taking creative ownership during the critical 7.7 and 8.8 e-commerce mega-sales. These aren't just dates; they are the Super Bowls of Southeast Asian retail.
I produced a comprehensive suite of assets—from thumb-stopping Instagram Reels to high-conversion static banners for Shopee and Lazada. The result was a cohesive visual identity that cut through the noise, driving significant traffic and engagement during peak trading hours.
Bridging Design & Tech
This wasn't just a design internship. I leveraged my Computer Science background to bridge the gap between aesthetics and functionality. I formally upskilled becoming a Shopify Developer, tweaking themes and layouts to ensure our creative assets actually converted visitors into buyers.
Beyond individual contribution, I helped build the culture. I took initiative to assist in onboarding new team members, creating a knowledge transfer system that would outlast my internship. Merging tech and creativity here wasn't just a tagline; it was my daily operation.
